Flinders Station is a landmark building in the center of Melbourne, built in 1909. It is the first train station in Australia and features a French Renaissance style. Flinders Station not only has suburban train routes, but also intra state and inter state trains in Victoria, making it the busiest station in the southern hemisphere. Across from the station is another landmark building, Union Square.
To protect this precious ancient building, the government renovated and protected the exterior walls of Flinders Station, which won the Victoria Architecture Award (Protection) and the Dulux Color Award.
